Bellinzona – June 5, 2024 – The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB, affiliated with the University of Italian Switzerland) is pleased to announce the support of the Comel Foundation for two important initiatives
The first involves the creation of a predoctoral program, in which selected Swiss and international candidates receive a fellowship for up to 6 months. Comel predoctoral fellows (Comel predoctoral fellows) are trained in one or more IRB laboratories and participate in scientific seminars at the institute. The best of these young people will continue their training with a doctorate.
In addition, the Comel Foundation will dedicate funds (CHF 300,000) for a doctoral scientific project, which after selection by international experts has been assigned to Dr. Silvia Monticelli’s laboratory and will study the role in autoimmune diseases of a group of RNA-interacting proteins.
The IRB expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Comel Foundation for this important support.
