Dear Colleagues:
I would like to invite to participate in the 1st edition of “Microsurgery and experimental research techniques in murine models”. This 5 day long intensive course dedicated to gain basic knowledge on microsurgery techniques, will take place at the IRB (Bellinzona) from the 6-10th of November 2023. The course will be limited to nine participants, and will be structured in two parts, the first 3 days (6-8th November) will be under the direction of Rene Remie and Irene Cuesta (Rene Remie, Surgical Skill Centre, The Netherlands), two world-renown experts in the field of microsurgery. The second part of the course (9-10th of November) will be led by imaging experts from the Gonzalez Lab (IRB, Bellinzona) and will be focused on the usage of different surgical murine models applied to intravital imaging.
During this course participants will be able to familiarize with micro-instruments and learn the key points of micro-dissection, micro-suturing, vascular anastomosis as well as intravital imaging methods. The small class size will make the instruction flexible, allowing a one-to-one, hands-on training for all the participants under the direction of the instructors.
The participation is open to scientist commonly working with murine surgery, medical students, or technicians with basic experience in microsurgery. The cost of the course is 2500 CHF. All materials will be provided.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Bellinzona!
