May 30, 2022 – Prof. Roger Geiger has been awarded for his research on immuno-oncology using systems biology methods, in particular for his work on “Metabolic modulation of tumors with engineered bacteria for immunotherapy”.
The prize, which serves the memory of Dr. Ernst Th. Jucker, a physician who died in 1972 in the Zurich rural community of Thalwil, honors outstanding scientific work in the field of cancer research. The prize money amounts to CHF 25’000.
The award was given during a seminar lecture given by Dr. Geiger at the Institute for Molecular Cancer Research at the University of Zurich.
In 2017, Roger Geiger started his research group at the IRB with the goal to study immune responses to tumors using systems biology approaches (“Systems Immunology”). He is Assistant Professor at USI and a recipient of an ERC Starting grant.
The IRB wishes to congratulate Roger on this award.
