The inflammatory process initiated in the lymph node after vaccine administration is crucial to develop a protective response against the pathogen. In this work, we describe the mechanism by which one of the most relevant cells involved in the inflammatory process, the lymph node macrophages, initiate this response. These cells die quickly after vaccine administration, and their death promote the release of different molecules, which act as an alarm signal and activate other immune cells. The description of this pathway will open new possibilities to improve vaccine efficiency.
