An international call for applications was held during 2024 to select a new Group Leader. A shortlist of candidates, from top universities in Europe and the United States, were invited to Bellinzona where they presented their studies results and future research agenda.
The choice fell on Dr. Samuel Nobs, who after receiving his doctorate from ETHZ did further studies at the Weizmann Institute. Nobs will open his lab in IRB during summer 2025 and will work on the interaction between the microbiome and the lung immune system.
