It was an opportunity for the public to visit laboratories and talk with researchers from IRB, IOR and the laboratories of the EOC.
On Saturday, May 14, the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB), the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR) and the Laboratories for Translational Research of the EOC opened the doors of the new Bios+ building inaugurated last November 27, allowing the population of Ticino to visit the otherwise inaccessible laboratories and observe up close the work of the researchers present in Bellinzona.
The COVID-19 pandemic has generated a considerable demand for information and interaction between science and society: in this sense, IRB and IOR believe it is important to promote an exchange with society. For the Bios+ association (Bellinzona Institutes of Science), it is important for people to understand science, but also to be able to participate in it. And, precisely in this sense, the day was a success with approximately a thousand visitors.
For those who missed this opportunity, an additional Open day is scheduled for Saturday, October 8, 2022.
