Joshua Tan successfully defended his PhD thesis, which was presented at the University of Oxford on October 7th, 2016. His thesis title was “Investigation of cross-reactive antibodies against Plasmodium falciparum-infected erythrocytes” and the work was done at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kilifi, Kenya, under the supervision of Prof. Peter Bull and Prof. Kevin Marsh, and in the Immune Regulation laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Lanzavecchia. His internal examiner was Prof. Matt Higgins from the University of Oxford, while his external examiner was Prof. James Brewer from the University of Glasgow.
Joshua has also received the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM) Graduate Research Prize from the University of Oxford for the work performed during his PhD.
