Gianluca D’Agostino successfully defended his PhD thesis, which was presented at the University of Fribourg (CH) on February 15th, 2019. His thesis title was “Dissection of the mechanisms regulating the CXCL12/HMGB1 heterocomplex-mediated chemotaxis in cancer cells, and in monocytes from Rheumatoid Arthritis patients” and the work has been done in the Chemokines in Immunity lab group head by Prof. Mariagrazia Uguccioni at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, in Bellinzona. His PhD committee was composed by Prof. Curzio Rüegg, Prof. Jens V. Stein, from the University of Fribourg (CH), while his external examiner was Prof. Oliver Pertz from the University of Bern (CH). The President of the committee was Prof. Michael Walch from the University of Fribourg (CH). Gianluca D’Agostino received the title of “PhD in Medical Sciences” from the Faculty of Sciences and Medicine of the University of Fribourg (CH).
