Andrea Romagnani successfully defended his PhD thesis, which was presented at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine on June 21th, 2016. His thesis title was “Role of ATP-gated ionotropic P2X7 receptor in T effector memory cell physiology” and the work has been done in the T Cell Development laboratory of Fabio Grassi. His co-advisor was Prof. Jürg Gertsch, his mentor Prof. Marlene Wolf, both from the University of Bern, while his external examiner was Prof. Giuseppe Matarese from the University of Naples. Andrea received the title of “PhD in Immunology” from the University of Bern.
