Marcus Thelen was one of the initiator and driver for the merger of SSB &amp; ZMG (Swiss Society for Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics (ZMG)) to SSMCB, and then the merger with the umbrella organization USGEB (Union Schweizerischer Gesell-schaften f\u00fcr experimentelle Biologie) to establish the current LS<sup>2<\/sup>. Marcus Thelen is an outstanding, world leading scientist and pioneer in the area of chemokines and atypical chemokine receptors.
