To study this mechanism, we have employed the revolutionary intravital 2-photon imaging available at the IRB in Bellinzona. Using this technique, we have studied the role of a subtype of immune cells called neutrophils alpha and beta in the development of a proper immune response against a HIV vaccine candidate.<\/p><p>We have also applied different pharmacological approaches directed against these cells that aim at increasing the strength of the response against the vaccine.
